An innovative fast charger, XTAR X4 NEW is an intelligent device for charging various Li-ION, protected and unprotected, and Ni-MH/ Ni-CD/ AAAA/ AAA/ AA/ A/ SC/ C cells. The large LCD screen shows the voltage, charging current and capacity that has been delivered to the cell. In addition, it automatically recognizes the state of the battery. It can charge, both 1 cell and 4 cells at the same time. X4 NEW is more than a battery charger, it is also a power supply for multiple devices. With the Power Bank function, we can charge various devices through the USB port. When the charger is unplugged, inserting a lithium-ion battery into the CH4 socket will automatically start the USB output. Note: USB devices and batteries in the charger cannot be landed at the same time, at the same time. Included with the XTAR X4 NEW charger, we receive a power cable.

The TC/CC/CV charging algorithm used in the charger, is a charging process for Li-ION cells to ensure the good condition of the cell. It involves charging with the right current and also completing the charge at the right time. TC/CC/CV charging stages, we can divide into:

• TC stage: the initial phase of checking and reactivating a cell whose voltage has dropped below 2.9V
  
• CC stage: then the cell is charged with a constant current of 50mA to 500mA (depending on the connected power source).
• CV stage: then the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until the cell voltage reaches 4.2V. When the cell voltage reaches 4.2V, charging is complete and the battery is fully charged
  

With the X4 NEW charger, we can also recharge the batteries, up to full. First, we insert the battery into the charger and wait until its voltage drops below 4.1V. This will occur during the self-discharge process. Batteries with a voltage of 4.1V or higher are treated as charged by the charger. Charging will start when the voltage drops below 4.1V.

Reactivating discharged cells involves inserting the cell into the charger and checking the voltage. With this function, we can check each cell in the appropriate size. When a discharged cell is detected, the charger will attempt to reactivate it. Note that exceeding the minimum voltage on the cell will limit the possibility of reactivating and saving such a battery.

Caution: cells discharged below a certain level are irreversibly damaged and reactivation may not be possible. Avoid discharging Li-ION batteries too deeply. This may lead to a significant reduction in their life and capacity or lead to their complete failure.

The X4 NEW charger automatically selects the current and charging rate by measuring the battery's internal resistance. To charge batteries at a slower rate, choose the two internal 0.5/1A charging outlets. The two external outlets offer 1/2A charging. The device has an additional Power Bank function with a 5V/1A USB output. A Li-ION battery can be used as a power source. This function, is only available in channel 4 of the charger (described USB Output). When the device is connected to the USB port, the charger will automatically start working as a power bank. It can charge a cell phone, flashlight battery, GPS and other devices, which is very convenient outside the home and on the go.

Note: Power Bank function only available when the power cable is disconnected. You can't land USB devices and batteries in the charger at the same time, at the same time.
