XTAR VC4SL charger, is an improved version of VC4S with enhanced features. It is designed for lithium-ion (Li-ION), nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) and nickel-cadmium (Ni-CD) batteries. It is a universal charger that can charge a wide variety of battery sizes. Starting from the most popular Li-ION models (protected as well as unprotected IMR,INR, ICR) in sizes 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26650, 32650 as well as Ni-MH and Ni-CD in sizes AAAA/ AAA/ AA/ A/ SC/ C/ D. The charger can charge protected Li-ION batteries in sizes 20700 and 21700 , and the device has an advanced user interface. It automatically detects the inserted cells' voltage and internal resistance and adjusts the charging rate, time and current to match each battery individually. A detailed VA LCD display gives plenty of information about charging parameters, which updates in real time. Since the charger uses a USB-C port, it is ideal for users who are on the go and need a power source. All you need is a USB wall adapter such as this one or a computer with a USB port. In addition, the device is compatible with Quick Charge 3.0, which speeds up the charging of cells, so useful for the user. The XTAR VC4SL charger has an internal temperature control system to prevent the charger from overheating. It also has short circuit, thermal and reverse polarity protection.

    The user interface is a color VA LCD display. It shows in real time, the charging status of the cells. The display reads the battery charge status expressed in mAh, battery voltage, charging current and internal resistance of the cell. The viewing angle of the display is wide up to 170°. Below the display are two buttons "Curr." and "Mode", which are used to manually change the charging currents - 0.25A /0.5A /1A /2A /3A, respectively, and to select the charger mode. Additional charging functions are "grade" mode and "storage" mode - storage. The "grade" function allows you to check the actual capacity of the batteries and its efficiency. In this mode for channels CH1 and CH4, the charger tests the actual capacity by "charge-discharge-charging" the batteries. The "storage"-storage function, on the other hand, maximizes cell life and saves energy. The charger can charge or discharge the battery to its rated voltage in storage mode when the battery is not used for a long time or is transported long distances. When the battery voltage matches its rated voltage, the self-discharge rate is the slowest and most stable.


    Note: When charging one battery in CH1 channel, the charging current is 3A. Please check the maximum allowable current of the battery being charged.

    Like all high-quality lithium-ion chargers, XTAR's VC4SL, has both an automatic shut-off function when batteries are fully charged and the ability to revive over-discharged batteries (0V Activation), ultimately saving money and protecting the environment. All of these features ensure hassle-free and safe charging of batteries, ensuring long-lasting use. The built-in microcontroller MCU accurately measures the voltage with ±0.05V accuracy and stops the charging process when the batteries are fully charged, which is safe and recommended.

    Caution: avoid discharging Li-ION batteries too deeply (below the minimum voltage), as this can significantly reduce their life and capacity or cause them to fail completely. Consequently, their reactivation may be impossible.
