XTAR VC8 18650/26650 Li-ION/Ni-MH charger, 8 channels, USB.
Powerful and portable!
XTAR VC8 is a fully compatible 8-channel smart charger for lithium-ion and nickel-hydride and nickel-cadmium cells with LCD display. It supports cell sizes from 10440 to 26650, AA, AAA, AAAA, A, SC, C. Controlled by an MCU, intelligent charging functions enable the VC8 to select the appropriate charging current according to the input power, ultimately protecting both the batteries and the charger from overheating and damage. With a built-in LCD screen, it's easy to see the real-time status with information on voltage, charging current, battery capacity, charge used for charging and charging status, and internal resistance. The XTAR VC8 has multiple protections programmed for safe charging, including over-current, overload, over-voltage and short-circuit protection to protect batteries and ensure full battery utilization. In addition, thanks to its high conversion rate and low heat emission, there is no risk to the charger or cells. The charger can charge protected Li-ION batteries in sizes: 20700 and 21700 with a length of up to 75mm.

For your convenience, the charger has a popular USB Type C socket, compatible with most phone adapters on the market. It supports QC3.0 fast charging, with a maximum current of 3A for a single socket in channels CH1 and CH8, when the battery resistance is low enough. We can connect the charger to any power source, with a recommended output of 3A. To power the charger, we need a charger with QC3.0 standard (9V / 2A). It is possible to use a weaker power supply, VC8 will adjust the charging current to the power source's capabilities. Included with the XTAR VC8 charger, we receive a suitable USB-C cable. We can find a suitable USB power adapter here.
An interesting and safe solution in XTAR's VC8 charger is a separately connected power supply, via a USB Type-C socket. This prevents unnecessary heating of the charged cell. When the kit is working, the power supply itself heats up, not the charged cell. As a result, the temperature during charging, can rise no more than 15 degrees on the cell. This directly affects the life of the battery.
The STORAGE function maximizes cell life and saves energy. The charger can charge or discharge the battery to its rated voltage in storage mode (for Ch1-CH4) when the battery is not used for a long time or is transported long distances. When the battery voltage is in line with its rated voltage, the self-discharge rate is the slowest and most stable.
Caution: cells discharged below a certain level are irreversibly damaged and may be impossible to reactivate. Avoid discharging Li-ION batteries too deeply - this can significantly reduce their life and capacity or lead to their complete failure.
