XTAR MC4S is a charger that surpasses others in quality. It is lightweight, with ultra-compact size. It was designed, very solidly and pragmatically. It can charge Li-ION 3.6/ 3.7V protected and unprotected rechargeable batteries, sizes: 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18490, 18500, 18650, 18700, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26650, and Ni-MH/ Ni-CD 1.2V AAAA, AAA, AA, A, SC, C. It can charge the cells exactly to 4.2V and automatically stop the process, when the charging is finished. So, we no longer have to worry about whether the cells will be overcharged, which directly affects the life of the cells. It automatically selects the charging current according to the input current and the number of cells to be charged. This ensures maximum efficiency of the charger and optimally fast charging of 3 or 4 batteries. With a low weight of only 95 grams, we can take it virtually anywhere. It allows us to charge 26650 cells, without an adapter and together with the USB-C port, it is very convenient, even when traveling. It will accommodate up to two 26650 batteries (CH1 and CH4 channels) + two unprotected 21700 (CH2 and CH3 channels).
Note: 20700 and 21700 size Li-ION batteries can only be charged unprotected (up to 70mm long)!

Like all high-quality lithium-ion chargers, the MC4S has both an automatic shut-off function when the batteries are fully charged and the ability to revive over-discharged batteries (0V Activation), ultimately saving money and protecting the environment. All of these features ensure hassle-free and safe charging of batteries, ensuring long-lasting use. The built-in microcontroller MCU accurately measures voltage with ±0.05V accuracy and stops the charging process when the batteries are fully charged, which is safe and recommended. The MC4S features a three-stage TC/CC/CV charging process for Li-ION cells and 0ΔV and -ΔV for Ni-MH/ Ni-CD batteries. Included with the XTAR MC4S charger, we get a USB-C cable. We can connect the charger, to any USB socket with a recommended output power of 2.1A. A suitable power adapter, available here.

An interesting and safe solution in the MC4S charger is a separately pluggable power supply. This prevents unnecessary heating of the charged cell. When the set is running, the power supply itself heats up and not the cell being charged. As a result, the temperature during charging, can rise no more than 15 degrees on the cell. This directly affects the life of the battery.

In the MC4S charger, we can also recharge the batteries, up to full. First, we put the battery into the charger and wait until its voltage drops below 4.1V. This will occur during the self-discharge process. Batteries with a voltage of 4.1V or higher are treated as charged by the charger. Charging will start when the voltage drops below 4.1V.

On the other hand, reactivating discharged cells involves inserting the cell into the charger and checking the voltage. With this function, we can check each cell in the appropriate size. When a discharged cell is detected, the charger will attempt to reactivate it. Note that exceeding the minimum voltage on the cell will limit the possibility of reactivating and saving such a battery.
