XTAR MC2 charger for 10440-26650 USB-C Li-ION IMR/ INR/ ICR 2 channels.

The latest innovative charger, MC2 with USB-C is a smart device for charging various Li-ION cells, protected and unprotected. It can charge sizes, from 10440 to 26650, and has an LED indicator, for each charging channel separately. In addition, it automatically recognizes the state of the battery. It can charge, both 1 cell and 2 in Li-ION technology at the same time. The charger cannot charge protected Li-ION batteries in sizes: 20700 and 21700.It can charge the cells exactly to 4.2V and automatically stop the process, when the charging is completed. The batteries will not be overcharged, which directly affects their lifespan. The charger weighs only 44 grams and this is a very good result. It allows you to charge 26650 cells (one unit), without an adapter and together with the USB-C port, it is very convenient, even when traveling.

What distinguishes the MC2 charger ?

  • Three-stage processor-controlled TC/CC/CV charging process
  • Two independent charging channels
  • Compact, small size - easy to carry around
  • Automatically selects the most suitable charging current (0.5A / 0.25A) to maximize their service life
  • LED charging status indicator, for each channel separately
  • Charge anywhere and anytime using the USB-C charging port
  • 0V Reactivation function can save "dead" batteries
  • Protection: short circuit, thermal, reverse polarity protection
  • Can charge size: 10440/ 14500/ 14650/ 16340/ 17335/ 17500/ 17670/ 18350/ 18490/ 18500/ 18650/ 18700/ 20700/ 21700/ 22650/ 25500/ 26650 at rated voltage of 3.6V/3.7V - Li-ION technology
  • Compatible with industrial cells (so called without high plus), low capacity and IMR/ INR/ ICR batteries
  • Does not support protected Li-ION batteries in sizes: 20700 and 21700.
  • Made of ABS material, excellent heat dissipation
  • Warranty: 24 months
The TC/CC/CV charging algorithm used in the charger is a charging process for Li-ION cells to ensure good cell condition. It involves charging with the right current and also completing the charge at the right time. TC/CC/CV charging stages, we can divide into:
  • TC stage: the initial phase of checking and reactivating a cell whose voltage has dropped below 2.9V
  • CC stage: then the cell is charged with a constant current of 50mA to 500mA (depending on the connected power source).
  • CV stage: then the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until the cell voltage reaches 4.2V. When the cell voltage reaches 4.2V, charging is complete and the battery is fully charged
Included with the XTAR MC2 charger, you get a USB-C cable. For the set, you will need a power adapter, such as for your phone, or a computer with a free USB port. The optimal power of the charger should be 2100mA. An interesting and safe solution in the MC2 charger is a separately connected power supply. This prevents unnecessary heating of the charged cell. When the set is working, the power supply itself heats up and not the charged cell. As a result, the temperature during charging, can increase on the cell no more than 15ºC. This directly affects the life of the battery.

In the MC2 charger, we can also recharge batteries, to the full. First, we put the battery into the charger and wait until its voltage drops below 4.1V. This will occur during the self-discharge process. Batteries with a voltage of 4.1V or higher are treated as charged by the charger. Charging will start when the voltage drops below 4.1V.

Reactivating discharged cells involves inserting the cell into the charger and checking the voltage. With this function, we can check each cell in the appropriate size. When a discharged cell is detected, the charger will attempt to reactivate it. Note that exceeding the minimum voltage on the cell will limit the possibility of reactivating and saving such a battery.
