XTAR BC 8 is a fully compatible 8-channel smart charger for 1.5V Li-ion and nickel-metal hydride (1.2V) cells. With advanced electronics, the charger can charge AA and AAA size batteries. Controlled by an MCU, intelligent charging functions enable the BC8 to select the appropriate charging current according to the input power, which ultimately protects both the batteries and the charger from overheating and damage. With its built-in LEDs, the device provides information about the charging status. The XTAR VC8 has multiple protections programmed for safe charging, including over-current, overload, over-voltage and short-circuit protection to protect the batteries and ensure full utilization. In addition, thanks to its high conversion rate and low heat emission, there is no risk to the charger or cells. Powered by a USB-C input, it allows you to connect to any 5V USB port (recommended 5V 2.1A). XTAR BC8 is a handy and functional charger for travel and home use.     The TC/CC/CV charging algorithm used in the charger is a charging process for Li-ION cells to ensure good cell condition. It involves charging with the right current and also completing the charge at the right time. TC/CC/CV charging stages, we can divide into:

    • TC stage: the initial phase of checking and reactivating a cell whose voltage has dropped below 2.9V
    • CC stage: then the cell is charged with a constant current of 50mA to 500mA (depending on the connected power source).
    • CV stage: then the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until the cell voltage reaches 4.2V. When the cell voltage reaches 4.2V, charging is complete and the battery is fully charged

    Like all high-quality lithium-ion chargers, XTAR's BC8 has both an automatic shut-off function when batteries are fully charged and the ability to revive over-discharged batteries(0V Reactivation), ultimately saving money and protecting the environment. All of these features ensure hassle-free and safe charging of batteries, ensuring long-lasting use. The built-in microcontroller MCU accurately measures voltage with ±0.05V accuracy and stops the charging process when the batteries are fully charged, which is safe and recommended.

    0V Reactivation of discharged cells involves inserting a cell into the charger and checking the voltage. With this function, we can check each cell in the appropriate size. When a discharged cell is detected, the charger will attempt to reactivate it. Note that exceeding the minimum voltage on the cell will limit the possibility of reactivating and saving such a battery.
